Postoperative pseudomeningocoele, Lumbar spinal instrumentation

Findings:
Previous L2 laminectomy is noted. Posterior instrumentation involving the vertebral bodies from L1 to L3 with pedicle screws connected by rods.
No evidence of any residual or recurrent tumour after excision of a right-sided schwannoma at L2/3 neural foramen.
There is a well defined cystic lesion at the site of the laminectomy at L2 level showing internal calcification at its cranial border and communicating with no dural lining and no postcontrast enhancement, in keeping with postoperative pseudomeningocoele.

Grade 1 degenerative posterolisthesis at L1/2 and anterolisthesis at L4/5.
Modic-2 endplate changes with ventral osteophytes are seen at T10/11 – T12/L1.
Multilevel disc bulging is seen at L11/12 – L4/5 without any relevant stenosis or nerve root impingement.
Central disc protrusion with anulus fibrosus spur is seen at L5/S1 without any nerve root impingement.
Mild-to-moderate osteoarthritis of the facet joints is seen in the lower lumbar spine.
A simple cortical renal cyst is seen in the right kidney. Post-operative changes are seen in the paraspinal muscles.

Conclusion:
No evidence of residual or recurrent tumour.
Post-operative changes with pseudomeningocoele at L2 level.
