Non-union of superior maxilla

Findings:
Old floating palate fracture with pterygomaxillary dysjunction and fracture of the infero-medial and lateral maxillary buttress, treated with plate and screws bilaterally.
The hardware material shows no sign of fracture, loosening or displacement.

The fracture shows no callus formation and no consolidation. The bone segments show no lytic changes. There is no displacement of the fragments.

Mucoperiosteal thickening is seen in the left maxillary sinus. The paranasal sinuses are otherwise clear.
Concha bullosa is noted on the right side with consequential nasal septal deviation to the left with left-sided bony spur.

The mandibular and the temporomandibular joints are intact, as is the skull base.
The mastoid air cells and the middle ear cavities are clear. The orbits are unremarkable.

Conclusion:
Features compatible with non-union of superior maxilla without evidence of any acute osteomyelitis, likely compatible with aseptic pseudoarthrosis. Clinical surgical correlation is advised.
No evidence of fracture, loosening or displacement of the osteosynthetic material.
