Unicystic ameloblastoma

Findings:

A solitary, lucent, unilocular lesion is seen in the right maxilla, measuring approximately 1.7 x 2.2 x 2.2 cm and extending superiorly from the root of the right lateral incisor, displacing the root of the right maxillary canine tooth to the right. There is a resorption of the root of the right lateral incisor with “root blunting”.

It shows cortical breach on its posterior and inferior aspects. No matrix calcification.

There is no associated soft tissue abnormality.

Mild mucosal thickening is seen in both maxillary sinuses. The paranasal sinuses and the mastoid air cells are otherwise clear.

The temporomandibular joints are unremarkable.

Conclusion:

Unilocular, expansile lytic lesion in the right maxilla with root blunting of the right lateral incisor and displacement of the root of the right maxillary canning tooth, suspicious of unicystic ameloblastoma, DDX odontogenic keratocyst. No soft tissue abnormality.
