Pituitary microadenoma

Findings:
Interval surgical resection of the known pituitary macroadenoma. Residual soft tissue lesion is seen in the right aspect of the sella, extending to the suprasellar cistern with mild compression of the right optic nerve and the optic chiasm on the right side. This residual mass measures approximately 9.5 x 10 x 12.5 mm. No invasion of the cavernous sinuses. The infundibulum is mildly deviated to the right.

Moderate, background small vessel ischaemic disease is seen. The brain parenchyma is otherwise unremarkable. No hydrocephalus or midline shift.

The orbits, paranasal sinuses and mastoid air cells are clear. No bony abnormality is seen.

Conclusion:
Residual pituitary microadenoma in the right aspect of the sella with suprasellar extension and mild compression of the right optic nerve and the optic chiasm.
